Heating Oil
Around 20 million heating systems in Europe run on heating oil. This market is mostly supplied by SMEs (approximately 12,500), distributing heating oil to both domestic and industrial users.
Whilst these independent fuel suppliers continue to meet the demand for heating oil, they are also responding flexibly to the need to reduce CO2 emissions. Significant developments have been seen over recent years in the technology for heating, improving efficiency and reducing emissions. These efforts are continuing and in this context, UPEI is committed to being a partner in promoting energy efficiency and innovative solutions, whilst ensuring a technology neutral approach.
